Sunday was a bit special cause it's been a long while since I went for service without having any bible study during mid week. This week is on the 1st half of 1 Cor 16.
Thank God for pastors like Chris for the clear teaching, reminder and encouragement. One thing that really struck me was when he pointed out how Christians should plan for their lives with God in mind. Planning without God in our life is a real danger.
Year end is coming again and it's always a time for people to look back and give thanks for the things that God has blessed us. But there will be some, like me, will feel bad abt some bad decisions we have made in the past year.
As our DG will be having a year end retreat this Sat, one of my worries is their response to the challenge that I will put forth to them for the new year; how do we want to live our lives for God in the new year. I am worried abt how others might respond and is also not sure should I speak out or just pray quietly that all things may just "so happen" turns out well for everyone but after the sermon, it all the more encourages me the importance of not only to have faith in God thru prayers but also thru actions.
What's the point of achieving good grades or done super well in our careers and feel great looking back at the end of each year but God is never our focus, or even worst when some thinks that living a life for God is actually a hassle.
It's the start of the last month of year 2007, pray that all of us would be truthful to ourselves and really make plans for the new year that we may make the right decision to set our priorities right for God in the new year.
Thank God for the blessing for the year that's abt to end.
