Last shopping for 2008 - Levis' Signature Jeans we bought

Met Songster for lunch at West Coast Plaza today and ended up all of us bought a pair of jeans, well Songster bought 2, cause got sale.

We will be wear it together soon. Never thought that I am gonna buy a pair of new Levis' Jean on the last day of the year. Buy clothes just before the new year is not a norm for me, maybe CNY.

Anyway, this should be the last post for the year. So to all of you who read my blog, I thank you that taking your time as I share my life with you. Hope that you will not miss 2008 too much, well cake does. Can't wait for the new bible study series to start man, looking for the new year already.

See you in 2009!!!!!

Be ready, anytime anywhere

Went to a Chinese Temple yesterday noon for a meeting with my deputy boss and wasn't excepting to talk to her about Christ.

It all started when she ask is it okay for Christians to enter into a temple and conversation just went on.

Thou was not prepared to share with her but thank God along the way He enabled me with the wisdom to speak and be a witness for Him. Praise the Lord.

Thanks for your prayer brothers and sister after I sent out my SOS sms.

She mentioned she went to a Christian school and studied 4 years there. Reason for not accepting Christ? Maybe it's her mother influence, according to her.

Pray that thru our conversation that she may remember the gospel that she read many many years ago and that God will work in her heart for her to respond rightly.

When I thought my year is coming to an end and I can slow down a bit then start a new to do His will when the new year come, God reminded me that if He wants you to spread the good news it's gonna be at His own well planned time.

So be really, anytime anywhere. Trust in the Lord.

Are you drowning?

"I am on a boat, not because I am special but just simply being pick up and now safely on the boat. As I looked upon the big wide ocean and many are in it. Some happy faces, some sad but all have one common thing, not knowing they are in danger of drowning.

Not that I am boasting but just simply grateful, deeply grateful for such a person like me to be picked onto the boat. Being pick only by the one that choose.

As I see the little ones being led in by the elders, it saddens me as they know not what lays ahead of them. Yet I am grateful I was not there any more. All that I wish is that some may be pick up one day"

CC09 - watch out for it!!!

Coming to a place near you next December, watch out for it.

Raining reminds you of what?

One of the things that reminds Evelyn is the time when both of us ride my yellow Super 4 in the rain. Only one set of rain coat, I wear top, she wear the bottom. Ended up her whole back wet and part of my legs, thigh area dry, caused she used her hands to cover them. Ha Ha Ha!!!

Those days are long gone, may at least till Amos can go around by his own. By then maybe I will get a yellow Vespa??

Praise The Lord for His love

Was reminded by the sermon yesterday that our Father's love for us now and forever is shown in Christ that He had sent for us 2000 years ago.

Pray that as I receive the breath of fresh air every morning that I will not take it for granted and that God will be at the centre of my heart as I live the day for Him, and by night fall I will give thanks to God for the day knowing that He is guiding my every step as I strive to live for Him.

Thank God for Eve and Amos that God use them to teach me to be loving and to be humble in my ways.

May you be able to praise God for being in the centre of your life. Remember He will be with you in every step you make, always.

Trust in Jesus our Lord, day by day.

Breakfast with Wei Han

The title could have been "Breakfast with my Dearest" but ended up having a surprise guest, Wei Han.

Pick my wife up around 5.35am after my night duty and went to Bukit Timah and Bukit Gomak in search of porridge for an early early breakfast but all shops were closed so we ended up at one of the hawker centre in Bukit Batok.

As we were looking at the stalls and we saw Wei han, holding onto a plate of Bee Hoon!!! Haha, to see him so early was really a surprise to us.

WH is going to work, ya 5.5 days work week for him. It's really great to meet up old friends for breakfast, some more at such an hour.

Only comment from Eve is that she regretted not wearing nicer, of course she said this to me after we got into the car. So lesson learnt, be prepared to meet anyone at anytime.

Evan's 1st Month

This post is a bit late, should be on the 2o Dec. Thanks LC and HL for inviting. The funny thing is I didn't managed to take a shot with Evan and instead, I took these:

Amos on LC's dog

Evan will join us the next time.

Super pack Christmas Eve service

Was super pack loh, people siting and standing everywhere.

Thank God for the work that He had done in people's life through out the years.

But I thought that it might be better if the children had been moved to the 2nd level rather than setting up the overflow room for the guests cause the children wasn't paying attention anyway.

Would be better if they watch from the 2nd level at the same time write on the piece of green paper that they are holding and free up a few seats for the guests from the overflow room.

KTV at 38 plus plus???

Almost went for my long awaited KTV session last night but we pull our brakes when we knew the price was 38++. Could end up about close to $50 per person!!!! Which is why we decided to go for the cheaper option, relax at Daniel's place and eat Christmas Bah Kua (cheap now leh).

Think next time I must book early for that Ten Dollar KTV. But still thank God for the fellowship last night, thanks Cherry and Daniel for opening up their house.

And did I mentioned that Xuiling drove last night? In the carpark, parking lah. Hee hee.

Last week of Dec and I am tired, very tired.

Thank God that I only felt energyless during the last week of Dec, where all the major events had ended.

Stayed over at Daniel's place last night for games and chit chat but ended sleeping with Amos at 1plus (I think). Paul also have the same idea, once you are older you can't really stay up to late. That's the fact.

Now I am really looking forward to a good 1 week break and start the engine rolling for year 2009!!! May God use us to glorified Him in 2009.

For now, please pray for more people to step up to serve in BGB okay??

Praise the Lord for the Amazing Caroling Race 2008

With the last minute problem that happened to some of the games,
the late arrival of the buses,
the missing bus that cause a team to miss one of the house,
the delay in time. All these did not stop the ACR from going on as plan, spreading God's word to the BGB youths.

Praise the Lord for the youths that responded to God's message. My wife just reminded me the idea of ACR actually started as early as Feb, when Amos was still not out yet. It's really God's hand at work that saw all of us (pastor, captains, officers and helpers) through these months in the planning, the people that came on board to help and the respond of the youths that came today. Thank God for the smooth running of the caroling to the houses.

There's so much to say yet I am unable to really put everything into words now (if I am able to I might be typing till next Morning).

What I want to say is all glory to God for using all of us to play a part in His work in the lives of the youths from Woodlands. And really thank God for the various people who helped in many different ways. Without Him, all these will not possible. Praise the Lord!

Also thank God I managed to mop the whole house after I got back, and thank God for my wife who had prepared the food and shown support. Also pray for Amos cause he hit his head twice today at home. Poor boy. But he's fine, sound asleep liao.

How I wish tomorrow can be a non working day....

Let my mind rest for today

Usually when I come home one of the 1st thing that I will do is on my laptop and check my gmail, to see if there's any DG matters or ministry matters (especially the ACR is coming).

Well today is Sunday, my legs are aching after the marathon and tonight I am gonna go back to the same hotel that we went yesterday for my Secondary friend's wedding (pray that the food will be different).

I told my wife and she agrees that I should not check my gmail, just for today. Let my mind rest, just for this time.

Looking forward to later cause gonna spend time together just she and me (Amos will be with my parents cause they haven't see him for half a week, plus he's still not well yet).

May you have a good Sunday. Praise the Lord for the good weather this Morning.

Btw, was just wondering how's the BASIC campers doing at the camp now....

Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon 2008- Half Marathon 21.1 km (Race starts 6.30 am)

I did it!!! Since my NS days I had not ran such a distance. Together with Grace, we finished the race.

Thou Grace is not very sure if she's gonna run 21km next year, I will want to run again. By then I am gonna be more prepared.

Both of us actually went into this marathon without any training, thank God for helping us to finish the marathon.

Met Wee Seng, Edward and "Paul Heng" (cake should know why lah hor?)

English emcee?? Me??

It's official, I am not good at being English emcee. Was the emcee for Liyong and Chee Seng's wedding last night, didn't really do a good job.

Should I do it again next time?

Sure I will!! Must improve on areas which I am not very good at.

Stand Chart Amos

Pick up the bags for our friends on Friday. Maybe should sign up for Amos next year.

Sleepless night

Last night Amos woke up at 3am plus and scared Evelyn. He was suddenly down with fever and flu. Had to fed him medicine and comfort him to sleep, took us about an hour.

Thank God my mum came over in the Morning and he's better now. Evelyn is not feeling well too.

Pray that both of them will be well and that this might not stop us to continue serve God wholeheartedly, especailly with the things that's gonna happen this Dec.

Was just thinking today how at times when we worry about our personal struggles or problems we might put God aside, totally.

Poor or rich, sick or healthy, pray we may continue to serve God to our best ability.

God help us.

Be truthful and encouraging

Think for us as humans we tend to worry how we might offend people even if it means pointing out their mistakes which would be good for them, or we go on the offensive and go on pushing our ideals and plans into other people.

We ought to be people of truth and to encourage people to live by the truth.

We should be confident in God's truth that when others question us, we should have confident in God's truth to depend His word.

And we should be encouraging others to live by the truth, God's truth, that we should be careful that what ever God enable us to do we should encourage others to do so and not to make them feel bad about not doing it.

Be sure that when we ask others to serve God is with a heart of love and encouragement and not with a heart of offensive and judgment, especially when the other person rejects our view. Praying with or for them should be the right way, not arguing.

Be truthful and encouraging to others for His kingdom, not our own ideals.
