Do all things in the love of God

Went for a talk last night at BB HQ titled:"The Challenge of Buddhism & Christianity - A Christian Appreciation of Buddhism".

For us as Christians when we meet people of other faiths we either become proud of our faith or we become too shy about speaking out. This talk shows me in the case of Buddhism we can come to appreciate some of the teaching Buddha taught during his life time. He was a wise man in terms of practical living which we as Christians can also learn but of course not all of Buddha's teaching we should agree and practice.

One of the things many people do not know is that since the time when Buddha died Buddhism had evolved into many versions. Although there are some nations that are still practicing the original teaching of Buddha, according to the speaker, but the main Buddhism that we know today is actually much more evolve and the speaker mentioned if Buddha were to be a life now he will be in for a shock to see the Buddhism that most people are practicing today.

The speaker mentioned this at the end of his talk:"Let Buddha be Buddha and let Christ be Christ" And he also say something along this line:"It is one thing to claim to know the way and other to claim to be the way."

In short, I am reminded we who have faith in the truth of God should approach all things in the love of God. It is God who chooses who to be saved and all we are called to do is witness. Witness to others in the love of Christ, not to proof that our God is better but to speak to them about the truth of God.

yah.. to know the way and is the way are two different things.
one is a verb the other is a noun.
