5 Years Later

It's been 5 years and we are thankful to God for watching over us and keeping us together.

Thank God for our parents, the people He put in our lives and our children.

The ride has not been an easy one and it's only Him that we are where we are now.

After today's sermon, I felt that it will be good for us to pray and plan our lives for God for the years ahead.

Praise the Lord for everything.

Busiest Year Yet

Hasn't been blogging regularly. Reason being it has been a very busy year, nothing like I ever experience before.

Sadly I am busy with work rather than the most important things. But I am still grateful for His grace and mercy, grateful for how He has sustain my family.

I pray for 2012 to be better. Better in every aspect, especially in the most important things.

Pray that my loved ones and more people will come to know Jesus soon.

May the Lord bless you in the new year. Happy New Year.

讲华语

Amos started singing "Happy Birthday" just now and then switch to "生日快乐".

Looking forward to seeing him speak more Mandarin.

And also, his singing woke Zoe, who greeted us with a smile.

The Durian-less Day

It's so interesting that I got to blog this.

I took half day this morning to look after the children as they were sick and Eve was away to teach for a few hours.

As I make my way to office to start work for the second half, my supervisor called me to ask if I am working today. The reason for asking was whether to wait for me to eat durian.

I was like "Wow Durian!!??". I said I would fly back to office even if I was on whole day leave. (I am kidding on that.)

Why this feeling? Reason being yesterday some people in my HQ secretly brought some Durians and the whole station smelt of it.

When I reach office, the Durians were not there. Not yet. They are still discussing whether to buy 10, 15 or 20. Eventually, we all thought we are settling for 15.

As I had to conduct a talk at 2pm, I have to leave just less then an hour reaching office. I was hoping that when I came back there will still be some balance left. And guess what, non.

Why? Because the Durians did not came. The person from the other branch who was suppose to order said the order for the whole station was too little so she didn't order in the end.

How sad...

The whole office was disappointed, except for Kevin. Actually it was not really that bad as we were all still joking it. Just that we were saying maybe we can get some Durians tomorrow, which we can wait as the lady said she will be ordering on Friday. A bit too long a wait right?

As I was on my way back I did not give too much thought about it. Not until I saw this at my lift:

What are the odds? Well, it was not meant to be.

That's why I am calling it "The Durian-less Day" today.

How crazy will you go for your loved ones?

I suddenly have this idea about going crazy for my loved ones. Okay, I am referring to my wife.

All thanks to Soon Wee and Shu Min, really felt the rush to crazy things for Evelyn.

Seriously, how crazy can a husband go for their wife.

I dun know but I thought it would be great to do something crazy once in a while. Anyway, we only live one life time so shouldn't we make full use of my time to do crazy things for my wife.

Anyway, I am just thinking about it.....

Wedding ceremony reminds me of....

Been to two weddings (Ronnie + Wei Ling, Soon Wee + Shu Min) within the last 3 weeks, reminds me of how to be a Godly husband.

Been very encouraged and I should say it's wonderful.

I used to think that attending other's wedding is a form of support but I say now that I am encouraged by attending it.

Thank God for weddings. They are just awesome!!!

V Weekend 2010

I suddenly had the thought to take her out over the weekend on Friday night because I had to work on Monday night. So everything planned out within the afternoon.

1st: Book tickets for "The King's Speech" for Saturday afternoon
2nd: Reserve seats at the Brazil Churrasco

Saturday:
Brought for a movie which she hasn't had in a long while. It's been quite a we hang out like this.

This was the prequel to wats going to happen on Saturday.

Sunday:
Told we were going for a wedding dinner which she thought that she had forgotten. As we made our way, I claimed that I needed to pick up something at Sixth Avenue.

Once we reached there, I asked her how something like "Long time no go eat there liao hor". Then she mentioned she rather go to the one a Swiss Hotel. Ha ha, didn't except that.

As we crossed the road (we park at the Guthrie House) she thought I was going to the pet shop. Not sure how come she thought of that.

Then as we enter into Brazil, she was very surprised and happy (at least that's what I thought).

She said this was the first time in a long while she can eat and enjoy her food.

That's how we spent our Valentine's Day this year. Not written in details but she knows.

Max out on time

We are thankful for the time we are able to spend together as a family. From my lack of posting you can roughly guess how much free time I have left for myself.

Hope that you are making full use of your time. On things that are meaningful of course.

Growing taller

Evelyn suddenly thought of taking the heights of the kids:

Don't think I will ever paint this part of the house.

The last thing I am gonna do before 2010 leave for good

Year end dinner? We didn't go this year.

Count down party? Never like it.

Late night movie? Only when the kids get bigger.

Overseas holiday? Not a bad idea.

What better ways to spend the last few hours of 2010 than to recap your whole year?

Thankfully I have this blog which I can recap with Eve and the kids (thou they are still young).

Many things and changes have happened this year but we are thankful for what the Lord has given me.

At least it is from my point of view. Maybe along the way we may be reiminded of other things that happen along the way.

2010 has been great. But I know 2011 will surely be better because one thing for sure is that Jesus return is getting closer.

Happy New Year everyone!!!

What will you read when you are old....

What will you read when you are old? I recently ask myself and I think it will be the bible and my blog.

No need to say more about the bible but my blog?

People have different views about blogging. Some good some bad. The reason I blog from the very beginning is so that years later when I look back I can be thankful for the things in my life.

How many of us still remember the things that happen to us 3 years back? How was your son's first walk? How was your church camp experience last year? How was your journey with your spouse?

Memories are precious and worth remembering.

Recently I have been guilty of not updating regularly. Pray that I can be more regular in my update in the future....

Almost Times Up for 2010

How should I sum up for this year so far: The arrival of Zoe? Us getting married for 3 years? Moving on from DG? Increasing challenge in parenthood?

Just few of the many things and challenges in life. As the year is about to come to a close and a new year awaiting for us, we are still thankful to God not only for what He has provided for us but for His promise of the 2nd return of Jesus.

Do spend more time to reflect on Him during this period for we tend to see our own reflection more.

For honour and glory.... one more time

SYOG 2010

I dun know about you but I wasn't looking forward to the SYOG before it started, maybe because I am being deployed.

I am reminded to be more prayerful over the weekend and to be frank my negativeness is something I am not proud of after listening to Chris' sermon.

I thank God I am able to face it now with a more cheerful heart, even when it meant long hours on the road. Thank God that I am able to pray to Him all the time.

Tomorrow I will be bring Amos together with my mother to watch the hockey matches, Evelyn will join us after school. Since this is the 1st YOG, I think it will be nice for Amos to have a feel on such an event. Already looking forward to see his expression tomorrow.

As for Zoe, still thinking if I should bring her but surely will bring her along for the swimming leg on Wednesday morning, which Evelyn will be on duty to bring her students to attend too.

Thank God for the opportunity to do something that does happen very often together as a family. But I am just so grateful to the Lord for letting us spend time together. Praise the Lord!
