2 very short days of CNY 2009

CNY 2009 seems very short as compared to the previous ones.

I was on leave the Friday before CNY and I had breakfast with Daniel at JE area. As I was on my way back home after breakfast, something caught my attention while I was waiting to make a right turn at a traffic junction and I can't help but quickly take pics of it:


Saw this old couple pulling something on 4 wheels, with big smiles on both their faces.


Then I realise it's a baby pram, they trying to avoid the sunlight having direct contect with their grandchild. How lovely.

Pray that Eve and myself will get to do this, if Amos do have a child in the furture.

Ya, my internet is down which explains why the lack of updates.

Had many things to share for this whole week. Will try to post them once the internet problem is solved.

Fear of my work....

Many task been assign to me. Not really worried about the work load but I fear the time that my work might demand from me. I am now challenged to plan my time properly (for God, family, fellowship, work and rest).

Pray that I will plan my time wisely, with God at the center of everything.

Sunday, rest day.

Finally we get to sleep long. Planned to go for a food hunt in the end both of us slept for almost the whole day. Eve slept woke up later in the day while I catch a longer power nap in the afternoon.

Only difference? Amos choose to follow mummy's sleeping time, hahaha!!!!!

Thank God for the rest day. Now I am re-charged to face tomorrow.

How can we use James Leaders' notes?

Brought it to the canteen to read up on yesterday's study and was asked by one of my colleague about the notes and then spin off to talking about God, the bible and Jesus.

Thank God for the chance to share Christ with her, though I planned to take 15min to read through. Pray for more chances to share with my non believing colleagues and that I may be a good witness to them. Pray that she will be open to visit our Church when I invite her and her husband.

Thank God for the great dinner with our DG last night, which is very near Li Chuan's parents' home.

Looking forward to learning God's word and fellowship together.

Though the reviews for this film is not very good overall, I had very touched by this movie.

Someone who gave his life up so that others may live. Reminds me of someone who did the same for me, and for you too.

Daniel called me, saying they are going to the hospital!!!!

Went down with Evelyn immediately and prayed with Daniel, Cherry is bonded to bed then.

Pray that the delivery will be a smooth one. Please pray for them.

Thank God for watching over Pris and Charis

Thank God for watching over both of them. Like what Albert mentioned, it's only when you are not in control then one will realise what is call "Grace".

For those who knows them, please keep them in prayer that:

- Pris will recover soon
- Charis will grow stronger and healthier day by day
- Albert be able to have the strenght to take care of the 2 of them

ESV Study Bible

Just got it today. Pray for wisdom as I use this book to teach His word clearly to the DG.

God test us for our good.

Great reminder from today's sermon.

God test us so that our character is strengthen, for our good. But some of us at times are tempted and start blaming God, which actually is our own sinfulness that's why we give in to the situation.

Pray for God's word to dwell in our hearts that we may respond rightly.

God please help us.

I just watched "Dan in Real Life"

I know I am a bit late. This movie been out for quite a while. Just rented the DVD. Quite like the whole feel of the movie. Think the music and songs really help made this movie better.

I am surely gonna get the sound track of the movie. It's been a long time that I really wanted to get a sound track after watching the movie.

Good night sleep is what I need.

The past few days been bad. But thank God last night I am able to sleep at least 7 hours and now I am ready for my talk at 9.30am. Thank God for the good night sleep.

Name your DG

Last night was announced that there might be a name the DG competition. Well not sure how's it gonna happen and what types of names we are gonna get, pray that all in all the DGs of ARPC will remember the primary role of DG.

Mission of the Year - Prayer

Chris shared with the DGs last night about the events that's gonna happen for the whole year and one major thing is prayer.

Pray that our DG will be able to kick start our prayerfullness.

Like what Chris say, "How can I pray for you?" should be a norm for us when we speak to one another. Not a case of showing whose more holy, but a simple fact that we as God's people trust and commit our lives to God.

So, how can I pray for you?

What I can, not what if I can't....

Pray that in all I do, I will always pray and ask myself "What I can do for the Lord" and not "What if I can't do/make/handle it for God".

May you have this prayer too.

Trust in the Lord.

A month of many task

Think it's the 1st time I ever experience, in the current job that I am in, that I am really doing a lot of stuff.

Just managed to finish some work for meeting later in the Morning.

Really thank God I am able to finish my task instead of complaining.

But I really dun mind doing a bit less....

By God's grace, most of the week this year is gonna be like this.

Thur- Night: CLDG
Sat- Afternoon: DG, Evening: Service

And most importantly, Evelyn and myself just started on a book. Something about married couple spending quiet time together. We just started it on Sunday, every night after Amos fall a sleep.

Pray that this will help us to love and serve one another better.

Please pray for those people that are suffering, in anyway, that they may surrender their live to Christ.

Well not really my 1st lunch appointment cause I actually had lunch with Evelyn at the same place on the 1st day of New Year.


Cheap cheap chicken rice, with Yew Minh on my 1st day at work. Finally managed to catch him before he move BB, some where near me.

Happen-dable

Happen-dable, a new word I sort of created in office. Meaning things that is possible and can be done. Cannot bluff wan.

People need the Lord

Not exactly the 1st entry I had in mind for 2009, but I have to write this:

"People need the Lord, people need the Lord.
At the end of broken dreams, He's the open door.
People need the Lord, people need the Lord.
When will we realize that we must give our lives,
for people need the Lord."

This song came me to my mind while I was listening to the radio this morning. The DJs were talking about the few headlines from CNN today, mainly on wars and mishaps. Than he goes on to ask the listeners to sms on what would make them happy for the new year.

At the start of the year I think most people still missed the point of what they want in life. People always talk about being happy but we know at the end of it happiness alone can't save us. People need the Lord.

Even as a Christian I am not always happy, even the bible says so too, and we are actually informed to be ready for trials or, in layman terms, for more unhappiness. But I am deeply grateful that I have the Lord Jesus, who at the end of broken dreams He's the open door.

New year plans? Of course I wish to be happy, but ontop of everything may His will be done, that the gospel be preach to more people and that my brothers and sisters will heed God's calling to serve Him with all their hearts and souls, reaching out to more people.

For people need the Lord.
